This makes me wanna reinstall Total War Attila. However, I remember having a problem booting it up. Might have to download the new Dawnless Days update in order to remedy that issue.

@@PopeJohnPaul last time I tried playing it, I always got a black screen on bootup. Probably it’s because of the amount of submods that I had running at the time. So, once I get another memory card for my pc, I’ll definitely reinstall it. Dawnless Days and Third Age: Reforged are some of the best LOTR mods out rn and I don’t wanna miss out b4 an ACTUAL LOTR or Middle-Earth: Total War game releases someday.

I bet that tortoise siege equipment was almost never used in real life but you can spam it like crazy here in game. I think most “sieges” were about attrition and starving out the occupiers hoping they don’t get reinforcements.
@@dacokc yeah Rome 2 sieges and total war sieges generally don't represent history really more meta but they are still fun to watch and commentate over. Would be hard to commentate over month long stand offs between sides 😂😂
@@PopeJohnPaul I was a hardcore Total War kid.. as I got older (married and 2 kids) I just didn’t have the time to fight battles anymore that could take an hour each. Eventually I moved over to CK3. That game flows much faster and feels a little more realistic (miss fighting battles a little). But the battles against AI often would feel repetitive. I can pick up CK3 for like 30min - an hour at night when I have time.
@@dacokc do love Crusader Kings myself play alot of 2 though. And yeah is much more realistic in some ways especially sieges and there is a mod that allows you to play battles in crusader kings called crusader wars if you're interested
@@PopeJohnPaul honestly, I just love managing economics/politics of the game. I used to be really good at battles but it just sucks too much time. I tried V3 but couldn’t wrap my brain around the mechanics of that one. Maybe eventually I’ll try to figure it out again.. I remember the days of MT2 where AI could pull in stack after stack after stack of reinforcements and all I could get for reinforcements was like one more reinforcing army.. that drove me crazy..
@@dacokc yeah the AI in TW definitely cheats 😂 do the same in Rome 2 you have one good army and the AI has like 2 and a half stacks and you're like how do I beat this!? My plan in a new campaign will be to go with quantity over quality. But then again the AI is trash so maybe how they balance by making it cheat 😂

Haven't watched the video yet, but this has me interested! I wonder if there's any relation/inspiration from The New Shadow mod for Rome 1? I remember in that the Reunited Kingdom was having a succession crisis and split into the main Kingdom (Gondor&Arnor) and a new one called Adûnabar, and the king of Adûnabar was being manipulated by a sorcerer called Herumor, who was once the Mouth of Sauron, now leader of a cult of the shadow. It was a really cool mod!

I believe the Orcs and Uruk-Hai did survive well the orcs definitely did but they did go extinct like med to late 4th age i believe

@@PopeJohnPaul nah it goes to modern day now like the community went all the way to modern day Europe 😥 so it's like an alternate history AND alternate gods and a few extra types of peoples since there is even israel which is the dúnedain land and instead of jesus as god it's Eru Iluvitar so there are 6 ages in total and after the 6th it hops to 2000BC

Chose latin empire, thinking it´d be more realisitc considering the influence of and amount of western soldiers. Though Nicaea or Epirus would probably have been the better choice nontheless lol. But always interesting seeing ones own battle and learning from the mistakes.
